Key Terms
Temperature – The
average speed of the particles in a substance (we use a thermometer to take the
temperature)
Heat – Is the thermal
energy transferred from an area of higher temperature to lower temperature
Thermal Energy –
This is the total energy of moving particles (kinetic energy) in a solid, liquid, or gas
(requires measurement of mass and speed of particles)
When viewing the video below, please substitute the term "Heat" with "Thermal Energy". This is consistent with the definition of thermal energy we learned in class.
